A Low-Complexity Joint Compensation Scheme of Carrier Recovery for Coherent Free-Space Optical Communication

In this paper, a low-complexity joint compensation scheme of carrier recovery (JCSCR) for coherent free-space optical (CFSO) communication is proposed. We applied the approach to CFSO system in quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation format. A signal-preprocessing stage, which effectively avoided repetitive operations found traditional schemes, was Unlike existing algorithms, modulated received signal could be accurately removed using only sum and subtraction real absolute values greatly reducing complexity operation. Since algorithm avoids fourth operation, system’s reduced while additional noise generated by cross-terms would prevented immunity enhanced. addition, uses errors final further computation whole algorithmic scheme. 10 Gbps QPSK transmission experiment conducted an atmospheric turbulence channel verify proposed technique improvement receiver sensitivity.
